Attitude of Senior Management Negatively Affecting Delivery of QA Services

Senior Management is primarily concerned about the state of the project, requiring visual and objective summary information on the problem and, all the more so, they have no time for expert analysis of the details. It is better not to inform the executives about less serious problems as well as about those which have not yet been emphasized by them. Otherwise, they will lose their trust in you. You will have to provide reports with weekly data on the number of identified, corrected and pending bugs. Since all the criticisms and suggestions will be entered into the database, it will cause a sharp rise in the number of statistical indicators of identified problems, and, in fact, the product reliability at the same time will not decrease at all, the project manager will have to find himself in the hot seat, explaining the shocking real reasons for this barrage of errors. To avoid such situations, project managers often refuse to carry out such an extended final analysis of the project or do not enter the results in the database. It goes without saying that the quality of the developed product suffers in this case.
